The first NUPT Chinese speech contest for international students took place on May 14th in the lecture hall at NUPT XianLin campus.
It was another NUPT international students activity held by College of Overseas Education and was graced by the presence of distinguished NUPT guests.
Contestants were required to make a three-minute speech in Chinese on the topic of “Happy in Jiangsu, Fun with Chinese”. After the speech they answered questions raised by judges, in Chinese as well.
A total of eleven contestants took part. FANNY and ATIGO won the first prize. ALITA, MICKA, ANDREW and GREEN got the second prize. AMOS, HUGUETTE, PARVEZ, MOSES and CALEB got the third prize.
Vice president Zhang Zhihua addressed in the end of the contest, saying he was amazed to hear foreign students speak so authentic Chinese with a short stay in China. It was felt in the speech that the international students had fun learning Chinese and felt happy and belonged to NUPT. He hoped all the international students would work harder and realized their dreams.
