In the early morning of June 10th, 2015, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications organized its first undergraduate mathematics competition for international students, which was held successfully at Room 502, Teaching Building 1, in Xianlin campus .
The College of Overseas Educationorganized this special mathematics competition to improve internationalstudents’interest in learning and consolidation of learning content. Yang Chaoxia, the students’ lecturer observed the precedence.
A total of 21undergraduate students took part in the competition. The competition was in the form of multiple-choice of 15 questions and had a timed response of 3-minute which is limited for each question.According to the rules, thecompetitors can either provide an answer or give up the answer of any of the questionin the 3 minute time allotted. A correct answer awards 10points, and wrong answer deducts 10 points.
At the end of each question and allotted time, the lecturer Ms. Yang released the correct answer and spokeon the problem-solving.
After the competition, ZAHIRUL topped the completion with scores of 100 points. Eventually, ZAHIRUL, RAKIBUL won the first prize, SULTAN, SONA, MAMUN, and FARHAD won the second prize, PARVEZ, SHAMIM, RODRO, and LEILA won third prize.
In a lively atmosphere at the end of the game, the students gave a warm applause to the award winners. The unique undergraduate mathematics competition has greatly increased the fun oflearning math and also promoted the learning of students.
