Regulations Governing the Admissions Procedures of International Students at Nan

Regulations for the admission and training of international students as submitted by the Ministry of Education are made for the purpose of standardizing admissions procedures at NUPT.

1. Our university provides education both with and without record. Education with record includes education for graduates, postgraduates, and doctoral graduates. Education without record includes preparatory students, advanced students, and research scholars.

2. An international student admissions team shall be established which assumes responsibility for all international admissions procedures. The members of this team shall be associated officers of the university, and will consist of individuals appointed from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the academic administration, the postgraduate college, and the Overseas Education College. The Office of International Cooperation and Exchange will assume the responsibility of team leadership. 

3. Students who choose Chinese as their language of instruction are required to pass the Chinese Proficiency Test at Level 4. Students who choose English as their language of instruction are required to have advanced competency in English language skills. Students who apply for undergraduate admission shall have finished all their high school lessons and have received their high school graduation certificate. Students applying for postgraduate admission shall have finished all required undergraduate work and have received their Bachelor’s degree. Students applying for doctorate work shall have finished all previously required postgraduate lessons and have received their postgraduate degree.

4. Applications for the admission of graduates will be primarily approved by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and will be further reviewed by the academic administration.

5. Applications for the admission of postgraduates will be primarily approved by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange. Evaluation and interviews for admission will also be held by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange along with specialists of the postgraduate college.

6. Applications for the admission of preparatory students will be primarily approved by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and will be subject to further examination by the correlative college.

7. A drafted admissions list will be submitted to the admissions team by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange for review and discussion. The name list will be submitted for approval to the correlative college leadership, and reported to the Education Department of Jiangsu Province for record.

8. The name list of graduates will be submitted to the academic administration by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange. The academic administration is in charge of assigning classes and student numbers. Following these assignments, the name list will be reported to the Finance Department by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.

9. The name list of graduates will be submitted to the postgraduate college by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange. The postgraduate college is in charge of assigning classes and student numbers. Following these assignments, the name list will be reported to theOverseasEducationCollegeby the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.

10. The name list of advanced students will be reported to the Finance Department and advanced students by the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.

11. The Office of International Cooperation and Exchange assumes authority in the interpretation of any item specified or indicated in these regulations. 


12. These regulations are effective from the day they are issued.
