International students must possess a regular passport, with a study visa either X1 or X2, to enter China.
A student under an X1 visa, within 30 days of entering the country, must go to The Exit and Entry Administration of Nanjing Municipal Public Security Bureau to apply for a residence permit.
Note! If visas and residence permits expire accidentally, you may be subject to a fine (500RMB/day). If you are carrying an X1 type visa, you must change it into residence permit with all necessary documents within 30 days after you enter China.
Required materials and procedures are:
(1) Health certificate issued by Jiangsu International Travel Heath Care Center. (No. 39 Chuangzhi Road,Jianye District, Tel: 025-52345700, Get off at Yurun Street Station on Metro Line 2 and walk for 15 minutes )
(2) Accommodation registration document from adviosr.
(3) “Application form for Visa and Residence Permit”.
(4) JW202 Yellow page
(5) Certificate for Residence Permit issued by International Cooperation and Exchanges Dept.
(6) A passport, passport copies of front page and visa page.
(7) Two passport-sized photos.
Fee: 400RMB for 6-11months, 800RMB for 12 months and above
Note! Those who have yet to pay their tuition should first pay their tuition and then handle the visa extension.
