Whenever a student finds that his passport gets lost, he should go through the following process as soon as possible.
(1) Report to the local police station where the passport is supposed be lost, and get a written document.
(2) Submit the report and temporary residence form to the headquarter of the police in Nanjing to apply for an official certificate about the lost passport.
(3) Apply for a new passport in the embassy of home country in China with the official certificate.
(4) As long as a new passport is issued, the student should apply for a new visa with documents offered by the international students’ office and the official certificate from the headquarter of the police.
